By: Andy Marsh, CEO

Today, I joined the Plug Power team to congratulate one of our longest-standing employees, John VanHeertum, on his retirement after 35 years of service.

John is one of Plug Power’s original employees, and his dedication dates back to 15-years with Mechanical Technology (MTI). John originally worked on Stirling engines for NASA during his first ten years, and has had his hand in Plug Power’s earliest fuel cell designs, including the first R&D automotive and residential systems, and commercial successes including GenCore, GenDrive, GenFuel, ground support equipment and range extender platforms.
