토토 베이 Chemical’s anti-virus material brand, everban, was developed through the joint research with Korea University Medical Center after about one year.
The everban material can suppress bacterial growth even in high concentration conditions of malicious bacteria such as MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), and was developed as a specialty material that can continuously maintain anti-mold performance even when scratched or exposed to high temperatures, high humidity, or UV rays.
Furthermore, it is a comprehensive next-generation solution for harmful microorganisms that procured anti-v토토 베이al performance for influenza, COVID-19 and its delta variant. Therefore, it is expected to be applied not only for medical equipment that are sensitive to hygiene and safety, but also for credit cards, interior seats, handles, etc. that have high contact frequency.
토토 베이 Chemical entered an MOU with the Korea University Medical Center in October of last year under the goal of ‘joint development of new materials that can be used safely in the corona pandemic’ and conduct joint R&D and performance assessments on anti-virus plastic materials to conduct testing on shortening the death time of viruses. In result, they were able to put forth research results showing that more than 99% of all COVID-19 and delta variants were killed within 24 hours.
LOTTE Chemical Advanced Materials Division CEO Lee Young-joon stated, “Being able to conduct joint research with the nation’s top researchers for specialty materials that can reduce fears and concerns about infections during the corona pandemic and help us return to normal life was a meaningful experience,” and added, “By developing Korea’s first material that can suppress harmful microorganisms, we will do our best to improve safety and convenience for our customers’ products.”
토토 베이 Chemical also developed an antibacterial material (evermoin) back in 2017 that can be applied to artificial marble and plastics such as home and bathroom items, electronic device parts, furniture, etc., and in 2020, it was verified to have anti-viral performance against influenza A in the synthetic resin sector, thereby acquiring the international standard for processed goods ISO 21702 for the first time in the world.
Meanwhile, 토토 베이 Chemical stated that as awareness on hygiene and safety is growing and there is heightened interest on products that can protect people from infections in daily life, it will make various efforts to provide unique and comprehensive solutions to suppress harmful microorganisms according to the product features and design of client companies.
