스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical announced on the 17th that they acquired the Environmental Declaration Certificate (EL727) for the first time among the PET producers in Korea as the Bio-PET material has been recognized for excellence in using eco-friendly ingredients and reducing the greenhouse gas.
스포츠 토토 베트맨 declaration is the accredited certification conferred by the Ministry of Environment to recognize the products that contribute to ‘스포츠 토토 베트맨 friendliness’ by saving resources and/or energy and reducing emission in the process of manufacture, distribution, consumption, and disposal. Its purpose is to provide consumers with information so they can compare and select 스포츠 토토 베트맨ly-friendly products and encourage the companies to develop such products.
스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical’s bio-PET that has been certified by the declaration reduces carbon dioxide emission by 28% compared to the petrochemical PET by using Bio-MEG (Mono-ethylene glycol) extracted from sugar canes. It delivers the same level of quality as the existing PET with exceptional workability, thermal stability, and transparency, but it is 100% recyclable and reusable.
Bio-PET that was first produced by 스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical in 2011 for the first time in Korea is currently produced by only three companies in the world, including Indorama Ventures, Thailand and Far Eastern, Taiwan. It became the first PET material in Korea to acquire the Environmental Declaration Certificate (EM702) from Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute last March and the latest certification has acknowledged the excellence in environmental friendliness once again.
“As consumer interests in the environment are growing, revenues from bio-PET are also constantly growing year after year in Korea and abroad,” said CEO Hwang Jin-koo of 스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical’s Basic Materials Division. "We will boost the reliability and sale of products with the Environmental Declaration Certificate and actively expand the bio-PET market."
Last May 스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical pioneered developing eco-friendly packaging materials using the bio-PET materials for beverage cups and salad containers along with SPC Pack, the packaging material producer affiliated to the SPC Group. Its use is expanding in Korea and abroad for water bottles, cosmetic containers, and beverage containers.
스포츠 토토 베트맨 Chemical has adopted the policies to expand and reinforce the eco-friendly business as Korea’s No. 1 PET producer by replacing all 70,000 tons of PET produced at the Yeosu Plant with bio-PET by 2030 and investing about 100 billion KRW in the Ulsan Plant by 2024 to construct Korea’s first production facilities for 110,000 tons of chemically recyclable PET (C-rPET).
